The Rice Design Alliance relies on its volunteers to ensure the success of its programs. The best way to get involved is to call the office at 713 348 4876 and talk to a staff member about your interests.
Committee participation is open to all members. The committees described below are in addition to volunteer work that can be done on an individual basis. Some committees are by invitation only, but the first step is for members to express an interest in joining.
Membership Hospitality Committee
Meets 3-4 times a year to plan membership events and evaluate membership requirements and benefits. Acts as ambassadors at RDA events, serving as hosts and welcoming guests.
Membership Development Committee
Meets 4-6 times a year to strengthen personal relationships and build rapport with individual members. The committee evaluates membership requirements and benefits.
Meets monthly in the spring to solicit Corporate Members and in summer and fall to sell tables and tickets to the RDA gala.

Meets several times a year to evaluate RDA’s technology and to keep it current.
Meets monthly to approve Cite articles and themes for its quarterly issues. All members are required to write for the magazine and the blog and to serve as guest editor of an issue.
The annual architecture tour is held each spring and RDA needs 250 volunteers to assist as greeters and docents. A thank-you party for the homeowners and volunteers is held at the close of the tour.
